Moving Wild
About the Product
Welcome to your very own national park, where animals are arriving and every habitat choice matters.
In Moving Wild, players draft cards to build the best possible park by collecting animals, habitats, and upgrades. Each turn, you’ll choose one card from your hand and pass the rest along, trying to decide whether you should grab the animal you really want, the habitat you desperately need, or the upgrade that might help everything fit together.
The more animals you welcome into your park, the more points you can score, but there’s a catch: animals need suitable places to live. If you can’t prepare the right habitats, you’ll lose points. Some animals also don’t like sharing their habitats with others, so your peaceful park can quickly become a tiny traffic jam of fur, feathers, and questionable planning.
This is a quick card-drafting game with charming artwork, simple rules, and a satisfying puzzle of trying to make every animal feel at home. Moving Wild plays 1–6 players, takes about 15–30 minutes, and is recommended for ages 8+. It was designed by Chris Priscott and is a new version of his game Zuuli, published by Oink Games.
What We Think
We haven’t played Moving Wild yet, but this one looks like exactly the kind of small-box game Oink Games does so well: easy to teach, quick to play, and sneakily puzzly once the cards start moving around the table.
The national park theme is friendly and approachable, but the decisions look interesting. Do you take the animal now and hope the habitat comes back around? Do you grab the habitat first and risk someone else taking the animal you needed? That simple “pick one and pass the rest” structure can create a lot of little table groans in the best way.
We also like that it includes solo rules, making it useful both as a quick family game and as a little puzzle to revisit on your own.
Why You Might Like It
You might like Moving Wild if you enjoy card drafting, animal themes, compact strategy games, or games where you’re building a small puzzle and trying to make all the pieces line up neatly.
It’s also a nice choice if you want something portable, colourful, and family-friendly, but still want enough strategy to avoid feeling like the game is playing itself. A pocket-sized park with just enough chaos in the animal pens.
