About the Product
Castles of Mad King Ludwig
Castles of Mad King Ludwig is a room-building game where you're constructing an absurd, whimsical castle for the famously eccentric King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Each round one player acts as the Master Builder, setting the prices for available rooms — and then everyone else buys and places rooms to grow their castle.
The twist is that each room type scores differently based on what's adjacent to it, creating a fascinating spatial puzzle as you try to build the most efficient (and bizarre) castle possible.
🎲 What We Think at WiredVillage
We haven't played this one yet, but it has an outstanding reputation and the room-building mechanic sounds genuinely clever. The rotating Master Builder role — where one player sets prices for everyone else — adds a great economic layer on top of the spatial puzzle. It looks like a really satisfying mix of tile-laying, economics, and creativity.
